About Good Berean

Our Mission

Good Berean exists to encourage believers to think critically, search the Scriptures diligently, and pursue a faith that is both intelligent and obedient. The name comes from Acts 17:11, where the Bereans were commended because they “received the word with all readiness of mind and searched the Scriptures daily to see whether those things were so.”

Our mission is simple yet bold: to equip the body of Christ to be modern Bereans—disciples who test every doctrine against the Word of God, who love truth more than tradition, and who walk in obedience to the Messiah with both conviction and humility.

About Jason Breda

I’m Jason Breda, founder and host of Good Berean.
I’m a passionate Christian content creator, certified biblical counselor, and lifelong student of the Word. For over a decade, I walked deeply within the Calvinist tradition, embracing TULIP theology and defending its system of soteriology. Through years of study, debate, and personal wrestling with Scripture, the Lord opened my eyes to a broader understanding of His redemptive plan—one rooted not in a system, but in the totality of His revealed Word.

That journey away from Calvinism didn’t lead me into bitterness or skepticism; it fueled my hunger for truth. My calling now is to examine theology honestly, measure all things by Scripture, and help others do the same with grace, courage, and critical thought.

From Living Christian to Good Berean

When this ministry began, it was known as Living Christian—a platform focused on exploring doctrine and Christian living.
In 2024, that name changed to Good Berean, reflecting a deeper purpose: not merely to live as Christians, but to search, test, and understand as disciples who long to know God’s Word in its fullness.

Through the channel, podcast, and written resources, I invite believers into thoughtful conversations about faith, theology, and obedience. The goal is not argument for its own sake, but clarity for the sake of Christ’s name.

Conversations and Collaborations

The Good Berean platform has welcomed conversations with respected voices across the theological spectrum.
I’ve had the privilege of appearing on Dr. Leighton Flowers’ Soteriology 101 and Jordan Hatfield’s Great Light Studios, as well as engaging in formal debates with Dr. James White and other scholars on topics such as the Atonement and free will.

We’ve also hosted Dr. Al Garza, a Hebrew biblical scholar, for deep dives into key Old and Dr. Tom Wadswortha New Testament scholar specializing in early Christian assemblies. Each of these conversations reflects the spirit of Good Berean: open Bibles, open dialogue, and a shared pursuit of truth rooted in Scripture.

Resources and Study Tools

Beyond videos and podcasts, Good Berean provides practical study tools to help believers handle Scripture rightly.
Our latest resource, the Exegetical Observations Workbook, is designed to train Christians in observation, interpretation, and application—the three foundations of sound hermeneutics.
We also produce downloadable guides, devotionals, and theological summaries to aid personal study and discipleship.

Why It Matters

The modern church often prizes experience over exegesis and emotion over endurance. Good Berean exists to call believers back to the text—to the steady, transforming work of Scripture.
We believe revival begins not with noise, but with truth. When Christians study, test, and apply God’s Word, they grow in discernment, unity, and spiritual maturity.

This ministry is not about creating division, but about inviting believers to measure every teaching against the timeless Word of God.
